See that wasn't so hard now was it?

Here's the reason I took it as a joke. Alot of LS1 guys complain about breaking their rear ends. Therefore dominic was making a joke that if he got a LS1 his differential would break. That was my take on it anyways. Where's the wash cloth? You need to scrub some of that sand out of your vagina. :D

eh, the majority of people that see your car won't know that you have an ls1 in there, so the turning heads thing prolly won't hold so true with that.

ummm.... i think people will be able to tell he has an ls1 in there especially with longtubes, just by the sound all the way through the rpm instead of just some decent sound at idle
Longtubes, true duals, ram air, caspers tps tec, ls1 26lb injectors, supersix powerpack, heads milled .020, comp cam .507 220/224 114 ls, forged internals and chromeoly pushrods, bored .030 over, tb spacer, tranny built with stiffer springs and kevlar bands, bigger servo, transgo stage 3 shift kit, edge 3600 stall, 1 pc aluminum ds, 3.73 superior gears, lsd rear ,custom pcm tuning, walbro 255 in tank,

ok? look at the number of h/c guys in the 10s vs the number not. not that many people can afford a 6K dollar heads/cam/intake package. i never said no ones done it  ide be in the 10s if i lightened my car up (3500 raceweight) and got a pair of heads. point is, its not hard to knock 2 seconds off any car. but when you get into the 10/11 second range it gets even harder. if all you care about is impressing some people online by going- hey, im the first na V6 in the 13s, then ok. i like to go fast, i could care less about fame. but whatever, i gotta go to work now.

Hes right, lol. I did all the work to my car becuase i wanted to accomplish something, i had a goal and i wanted to acheive it. Also i do enjoy going fast. But now i got a promotion and some more money from my job, completely unexpected, so now i want the ls1 swap, I have tapped the 6 for all its worth (na) and i dont like forced induction, im all about the na, so its ls1 time. Most of my mods carry over to the v8, which is why i chose them. The cam, clutch, and headers dont. But when i did the clutch and headers i had no intent of the ls1. Anyways point is, i had the intent of the ls1 for a while, but i wanted to help show what our little 6 is possible of before i trashed it. So i ran myself some 13's. Anyone can do it. I dont have P&P'd anything. 13's isnt a big deal imo. Its not like 10's in an ls1, its like 11's...and what ls1 doesnt do 11's all day long hahaha.

my brother just bought a '98 Z28.
I gotta say, i've wanted a Z28 for a long time, but now I want one more than ever. the thing DOES pull forever...
i couldn't sell my V6 for one NOW...but i might see doing it in the future...
nothing against the V6, I love it...

you're not a sellout. i appreciate you posting your updates. with the # of people posting about swaps, it's time someone took the effort and who is better suited to technical work like a swap than our own dear magnus. :D

i'd rather see you put it in a locked post though where you're the only one posting. then have it archived. all other comments can be taken in another post.

DV, thanks for the compliments.

I just thought about locking this one and just updating it myself.. but i think it's ok for now. I can always prune it in the future.

My major concerns right now are wiring the 99 LS1 pcm harnes to my 97 body harness, that will be an issue.. ALSO the fueling.. How will the lines mate and such.

everyone has to move on at sometime. congrats on the move Keith.

I love working on my 6 also but sometimes I imagine how much it holds me back, imagine what I could do with a v8 if Ive done what I have in a damned 3.4L ;)

Im sure Keith will find more room to explore his potential with a LS1

Good Luck

I didn't read through the entire thread, but what type of tranny are you putting in? 46l0e?

Any mods to the motor tranny?

oh... also..

did i forget to mention... true dual exhaust w/H pipe??? I believe I did forget to mention that.

VROOM VROOM baby.

BTW, I picked up 99 LS1 fuel tank for $125 today. 99+ v6'ers don't need the whole tank, just the ls1 sending unit/arm thing becsue 99+ ls1's have the FPR built into the tank. 98 LS1's have it on the rail. You can find a better deal than $125 if you look hard enough thoguh.

The evap system on this is a MAJOR BIOTCH!!! I'd have to run mroe wires to the PCM if I wanted it to work all the way from the tank.. HECK NO.. evap is going bye bye.
