the 99+ weigh less than the 98- i think cause they are made of plastic instead of steel. not sure exactly i read it on ls1tech.com a long time ago. so maybe if you do a search there you'll find it
i was swimming in the carribean. animals were hiding behind the rocks except for the little fish, but they told me the squid\'s trying to talk to me. oink, oink. where is my mind?

I read on ls1tech that the older ones weigh 40lbs and the newer ones weigh 22.

Stripper 97 Firebird w/LS1 and !EGR !AIR !EVAP and tons more bullcrap..

might be looking at a 2900lb car.

wont your car weigh a considerable amount more than 2900 lbs since the ls1 weighs a good bit more than the 3.8? Why are you going with an h pipe rather than an x? I thought the h pipe makes power just down low but the x makes power through the entire rpm band? Im not being a smarta** so please dont take it that way

LS1 is aluminum, L36 is cast. I believe the weights are about the same.

I'm getting H-pipe cause it's already made and will bolt right up for me..

Basically, its Pro Stock Johns old exhaust setup. True duals, and let me tell you.... it was the BEST EVER ls1 I have EVER heard.

Meanest car on the street.

Yes, please do that.
also could you take pic's of differences and let us know?
I don't know anyone who has installed a plastic gas tank in an older car

Thanks

Actually, I have read that the complete ls1 is actually 20 lbs lighter than a complete 3.8

Be carefull with those polly mounts on 98 ls1's.. From what i understand they have a pretty overactive KR sensor.. and polly dosent help the situation..

What year ls1 are you going to get?

99. I'd get an 02 but nobody wrecked their new cars just yet. Plus they'd be a lot more $$$

pretty sure an ls1 weighs 60lbs. over the V6. so it's not a big deal at all

Dude, I want to do the EXACT same thing to my 93-97 style Firebird!! I would love to have the new tech power of an LS1 in my car!

Someday, I swear I'm going to get an LS1 in between my fenders...

Will you be using a stock 10 bolt, or will you move up to a GM 12 bolt or a Ford 9"?

Good luck on the swap!

LOL.. i believe the 99+ have 26lb injectors .. and the 98's have larger ones.. I'm not exactly sure.

Regardless, i'm such an NA man.. and if anything getting juiced, its my muscles. :D
