• Engine is out of the car.

I seriousely have the coolest warehouse ever. The warehouse has a HUGE HUGE crane/hoist that runs all the way across on rails.. I'd say its 400 feet long by 80 feet wide.. Lifted the front of the car... like a glove!

Now it's time to start tearing it apart and shipping out parts.

              Thanks again zach!

Danny, I'm sure we'll wrench in the warehouse this weekend.. I'll hit you up to let you know the details. You can work on your car inside too if ya like.

                    • You run my VIN and you'll see its a V6 car... so I plan to keep submitting my new 11 sec NA timeslips. ;) .. And I'll add a 25 shot of N20 just so I qualify for the power adder bracket too just to stay ahead of James.

OH so that means my V8 will qualify for the timeslips page also. You may be able to hold off james but you better watch out for me. I might just bump you down the list.

                        • I plan on doing a swap to a V-8 also. It's going to have to be put on hold for a while though since I'm about to have my first baby. Don't get me wrong guys. I love the power and fuel economy of the V-6 but the torque that comes out of a V-8 is a great feeling. Once the Firebird is paid off it will sit to the side and become a project car for me. As for now it's my daily driver for 2 more years (as long as no one hits it). I wish Magnus all the luck with his swap. He has done a lot for the V-6 community. Someone else will have to pick it up now.

                          • SUGGESTION!!!!

Keith: There are a lot of "how do I swap my engine?" questions that get asked here, as well as other car websites (CamaroZ28.com)...

...have you considered writing up a "how to" guide on what to do? From what you type, it's obviously more than just "changing the engine and trans". I am sure a write up would help many people to do a swap.

Just a thought; good luck with the swap

                              • Hey Magnus... Just a quick question. Are you going to change the front springs? I saw in a GMHigh Tech mag where someone put V-6 springs in the front as well as the back in his Trans Am. The car looked like it sat just fine in the front but I'm personally not so sure about doing this myself. If you do this, I'd be curious to know how the road feels with those springs.
