Rigth now my rear main seal is starting to leak and I need to replace it. Now what I want to do is rebuild the engine and add stuff like the head and cam package, but I can't go w/out a car since its my only transportation. I have found a 96 3.8 w/ only 12k miles on it for $550. Is this a good deal for a 3.8l engine?

Usually engine tranny combos go for that much. Can the seller prove the miles somehow? Seems way low.

Check if it is a re-build with 12000 miles on it...

Used is used... whatever. I'd drop in that used one and rebuild yours. Rear main is NOTHING when you have the engine out of the vehicle. I want to see those mods happen!
