  • want new engine

i havent been here long and i never knew 3.4's can't seem to get below 14's. i've always dreamt of dropping a v8 in my bird. just out of curiosity how much would it cost for the whole thing; used engine, new parts, and labor?

You are probably looking at around 3.8k for the whole thing.

would a 3.8 be cheaper and easier? i want my car to run 13's and i think i'll be happy. you have to reprogram the computer when you change engines don't you?

LT1 is considerably cheaper than LS1

Yes a 3.8 is cheaper. But it wont run 13's with stock cam heads intake ect.

If your going to go through the trouble of an engine swap, do the LT1. Because if you just want to go fast and don't want to mess with lots of mods thats the way. I think this is going to be a big summer for the modded 3.4's so keep your eyes open for new times and developments.
