• Calling all who have done a V8 swap: Parts I'll need

I'm doing my homework before I get started buying everything for this summer's swap.

Here's an engine I'm looking at from FParts salvage:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33615

I might not buy that one, but I am going to buy a same year engine w/ auto.

That engine includes all belt-driven accessories, starter, exhaust manifolds (which will be replaced with headers anyway), all sensors, maf sensor/plumbing, and the claim is that it's "complete from fuel injection to oil pan!"

So, for other parts I'm looking at:

engine cradle/mounts
LS1 Radiator
Steering rack
Fuel lines
Fuel pump
Heater hoses
Radiator hoses
A/C hoses
150 MPH gauge cluster
Underhood Harness (WTF is this?)
Dash Harness (See: Underhood Harness)
Transmission Crossmember

Do I need to get a throttle cable? A new pedal assembly (I already have an auto tranny)? I already have a rear-end out of a '96 WS6, so I'm fine there. I also have a 1 piece steel driveshaft, so I won't need one of those either.

Am I missing any parts?

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the long post .

As for what I know...

your rear and driveshaft will be fine...

P.S. to all who say sell it and buy a v8...

I am sure Rancid's car is hard to find...

and mine though less hard to find, I am digging as well and just looking into a cost analysis of it

I believe the cradle = K-member, that engine comes with the comp/wiring harness..

I installed Hotchkis springs and bilstein HDs... will I need new shocks/springs up front?

Yeah, I hear ya there. That's why I've considered the swap. It's not easy to find another Hugger Orange Camaro around, and then one with a V8 too. People don't like to sell them for some reason.

The underhood harness and dash harness is just the wiring harnesses. You'll need the LS1 harness for the motor/computer, and you'll need the dash harness, but I hear that you can do some splicing and stuff to get the LS1 harness to work with your dash harness.

Absolutely awesome, I've been through that site many times and never even noticed that link.

I knew my Prescott brother would come through!
