  • Head flow and Cam research update

I am currently undergoing a pretty extensive research project regarding the stock cylinder head flow and how it compares to all the aftermarket vendors. When i complete it I will post my excel file and the graphs so you all can see the flow comparisons and then determine which set of heads is better for your configuration.

By researching the head flow and seeing where the CFM flows best we can determine which cam specs would be best for each set of heads.

i NEED A LITTLE HELP THO. I currently have the stock CFM intake specs but need the exhaust specs. That would be great if you guys could help me get those, Ive looked around and cant find them, thanx a lot....Ill keep you guys posted

i was under the assumption that no aftermarket heads were made for our cars and the only option would be to port and polish the stock heads.

http://www.lonestarsix.com/forum19/270.html There are stock and ported 3.8 flow numbers here. Average intake flow number is 162.9 CFM from .100-.500 and 174.5 CFM from .100-.600 lift. On a stock shortblock, a fairly conservative cam, 24 lb injectors, they have dyno'd 271rwhp/259rwtq.

Here is a page that I found some flow data on. May be helpful.

This application is for the 3800....Once I have completed all the research and put together the flow charts I will consider doing a project on the 3.4L. Camaronat...that link is for the 3.4 V6. I thank you all for your help, I will use the exhaust specs given by wickedsix. That should be good enough to give a general view of how the flow curves will look. I will keep u all posted

I run the ARH NA custom grind. Its a 210/220 .512/.512 on a 112. It uses the less aggressive high energy lobes instead of xtreme energy like most use. So far its proven to be very streetable and makes good power. There will be about three more guys with this cam soon.
