  • Hptuners or DHP?

Looking for a capable tuner that is best for advanced tuning with power adders. Looking more at HPtuner because you can buy the upgraded cable and add wideband, etc. Does anybody have these systems? I have heard that the V8 software is being developed more than the V6(obviously) but its a lot of money (for me) and want to get the most bang for my buck. Any other suggestions? Have a 97 Camaro RS 3.8 looking to add N2O now, but Turbo later without nitrous.

"PERSONALY" I think hptuners is a better package.

but either can get the job done.

if you have the extra money and want the best go with HPT and the EIO cable..

    otherwise go with DHP..

thank you for the info.. By the way, can I upgrade later to the EIO cable for 150, or is that just an add-on to the standard one?

I am not sure exactly how much it is to upgrade. Because when I did it they were offering some discount.

        Email them support@hptuners.com

Hp tuners and DHP will both serve your need and they are both available with a wideband package. There are advantages to both. DHP is currently backordered, but should be shipping again in a few weeks.

from what ive heard, DHP has a few more tuning tables/capabilities, but HPT is more user friendly

With HPtuners, you have to pay for the support. $100 a year. When you get the Powertuner however, DHP has a seperate forum just for powertuner owners so they help each other tune. I heard its a really nice place.

HP Tuners has a pretty active forum as well.

you don't have to pay hptuners for support. You have to pay them for major upgrades. Keith is really good with keeping up on his email. For small stuff you consult the message forum, for deep stuff I'm sure keith will help you out via email. So far I love HPtuners.

you gota look at it this way as far as support goes.

I have read both forums. I post on HPT.
They are both pretty good. I prefer HPT because there is alot more camaro specific stuff on there.. as well as on occasion we get good input and help form the masssssive v8 community. and obviously the GP people..

I dont know about DHP but HPT has allways responded to my every need in under 24 hours.
My experience with DHP about a year and a half ago i emailed them about tunign for v6 camaros.. they dident even respond.. so that left me a little bitter about their service..

as far as paying for support goes.. its $100 for a year worth of updates..
                          You get some free..

you can take it or leave it.. as of right now it has pretty mch all the parameters you "need".. any addition stuff will jsut me new features.. and if somethign comes along that is a MUST HAVE kinda feature or update.. you pay your 100 and its yours.. and the next years worth..

The way i see its it is insentive for them to keep deleoping new tools and functionality.. and this is where HPT really kicks butt anyway.. so..

i dunno.. its not that big of a deal.. because as a package its complete.. so its jsut an option.. and imho its good for the buisness.. becuase it makes them "work for you" otherwise they dont get jack..

while that does sound like a good strategy IMO they need to quit worrying so much about updates for you guys and come up with some software for the 3.4s :D
