great info, leaning more toward HPT now... 98bird..I believe it is necessary for a laptop on both. EFI live just came out with a data logging software V7 i think.. but its not avail for us V6guys yet (LS1 LS6..not sure if they are even considering us). Laptop is not essential for that setup, but convenient. Thanks everyone!!

you wont be needing datalogging software if you buy HPTuners.. trust me its logging features are as good as efilive if not better..
and yes for either product you will need a laptop..
well you dont "need" one.. but if you plan on doing any logging you will.. that or a really long extension cord..
