• V-8 Swap Crazy thought?

Anyone ever drop a Cadillac 500 cu in V8 in a f-body. I have a 94 V6 not doing much thought it would be fun. That 500 produces 300+ HP and almost 500 ftlb torque. Crazy thought????

300hp is pretty weak for a 500ci motor

waste the money on modding the V6 and take it up to 300hp, thats where Im headed!

Ive got over 300hp at the crank with heads/cam on a stock shortblock. I'd save the trouble of trying to swap that motor and just work on the V6!

Those caddy engines are pieces of ****. You'd be much better off selling your car and buying an LT1 car. You'd gain reliability, fuel economy, plus it would be cheaper.

Or you could put the caddy motor in, mod it and do sick wheelies with all that torque...

Thats what i thought. The specs said that motor had 375hp but a one stock one dyno's at 323hp @ 3600rpm and 504lbs of torque @ "2600 rpm". This only 60 lbs hevier than a short block bowtie. With headers, mild cam, intake, and carb it was pulling 440 hp and 565ftlbs. keep in mind one of these motors can be had for a couple hundred bucks and the mods cost less than $700. lot of power for a little bit of money. i've seen these drag racing in a el camino fully modfied with heads and radical cam. ran in the high 9's.
Even at a stock setup i don't see how fuel mileage would be a problem with all that low rpm torque.
