• LT1 TB on 3.4L intake

Ive done a search, and it isnt working for me at all.

Mainly, I want to know an in depth description of how to fab up an LT1 throttle body to a 3.4L intake. Any body help me out?

Also, how does this work on a stock engine? does it flow TOO much? I plan on doing a cam, roller rockers, etc when i do the TB.

Or would it be more worth my while (and money) to just start porting my intake and the throttle body thats on the car now?

Im just looking for increased air flow, because the car is pulling great, but once it hits higher RPM's, its just shot.

Ummm...that's pretty much impossible without tons of fabrication. The LT1 throttle body is rectangular, with four bolts at each corner, and twin 58mm throttle butterflies. It also houses the TPS, IAC, and part of the PCV system; none of which are interchangeable with the 3.4. Your throttle body is more square, with the MAF as part of the unit, and one singular throttle blade.

stock engine.... this would ba a very bad mod
ported heads & intakes, new cam, new rockers, some bowl work... then it would be a great mod. i will do a lil write up after i put mine on

I've installed the LT1 throttle body on my 1994 3.4L. Just brought my intake to a welding shop and they fabricated the same way as you see in the above pics. They charged me $120. All the sensors will hook back up but you might need to get a LT1 throttle cable because they are longer. I haven't got the car going yet because I am just putting the heads back to together from a cam and head job. So I can't tell you if there are any HP gains.

How hard was that to fab up? did you make that whole extension piece out of aluminum? I could probly get some sheet aluminum and measure it all out and get it to work right, then just take it to a machine shop and have them weld it up....

there any other things i can do intake/throttle body wise to get more air into the engine? (no forced induction...)

FYI 3.4s don't have MAFs.

I wish someone had some hp #'s on that setup. At least we judge if it is worth the $ for that type of set up vs. porting the standard tb.
