Do a search and you'll see lots of people running more lift than that. I personally run .538".Matt

I was telling some guy at work the specs of the cam and he said that it was too much of a lift (FOR A V6) and that if I ever punched it it would mess my car up bad.. I know y'all wouldn't sell me one that wouldn't work but that got me scared.. lol I havent ever had an aftermarket cam before.. You ever find out anything about those timing cover gaskets? And I also wanted to ask how much for a port and polish??

So that guy says that if you run that much lift and punch it will mess the engine up bad.
It's a cam not an uncontroled turbo.
The only way a cam is going to mess up you engine is with piston and valve hitting, bent push rods, crushed valve seals and dead valve springs.
It's not going to blow your engine from to much power. Places that sell ported and polished heads won't be cheap, it will be around $500.
That is why I stoped listening to peoople, they only point out what they think you can't do only because they haven't done it them selves. A lot of people say that the stock heads don't flow well over .512" of lift. Maybe that is what your buddy was referring too.AIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band

And you hit .513" and you go k-boom!
But realy some of these stock heads once the lift gets to a certain point and you don't relay get any more flow.
Like the 3.4 heads they run out of flow at .450'' in stock form, you can go to .5'' or even .55'' and all most no change. Then it is porting time.\'85 Z28, T-tops new LG4 and TH700
\'85 3.4L 5-speed
mods: http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4 the nitrous exhaust O2 safety, pg 3.
Areo space materal engineer wantabe

3.8 heads will flow up to .600 without backing up, but from .5-.6 they dont gain much un-ported.Black 1998 Pontiac Firebird A-4 swap
271.4rwhp/259.4rwtq NA
13.30@102.44
www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98

Can i get some low lift flow numbers for our heads stock and/or ported?
I'm talking lifts less that .100Your sig is the most important part of your message. Make sure that you list EVERY single thing that you have done to your car so that we can all go \'oooh!\' and \'Ah!\'. Please make your sig consistently longer than anything else you post. Please include your lengthy sig with EVERY single post you make during a reply, even if you only reply with a monosyllable grunt.

Your looking for more flow at low lift?
Then you are looking for the right kind of heads.
Most people that put out flow numbers start at .1 or .15''.\'85 Z28, T-tops new LG4 and TH700
\'85 3.4L 5-speed
mods: http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4 the nitrous exhaust O2 safety, pg 3.
Areo space materal engineer wantabe
