• ZZP Hot cam...

How are the N/A gains? I know someone here has got to have this cam. Lookin for a cam that will do me well on the bottle, but N/A as well (since most of the time it will be N/A). And also how is the idle? Is it nice and lopey like 98camaros GT2 cam?

I hit 231 RWHP N/A with the injectors maxed out at 5300 rpms. I am thinking another 15 hp is there between 5300 and 6000 now that I have the 36# injectors. I hope to get back to the dyno this week and do another N/A pull as well as a 100 shot pull. I will post the results after the pulls.

        This cam is awsome!

When you did the cam.... what else did you do?

I have planed the zzp 1.6 roller rockers, double roller timing chain, 130 springs all to compliment the XP hot cam.

I did the cam, 105# springs, hardened push rods, and P&P the upper and lower intakes. Of course, I already had the headers, 3" exhaust and a modified intake system.

Your plan looks good. The only problem with the 130# is you will wear out your valve seats faster but they should work beautifully. Definetly do the push rods, the stock ones will not hold up.

The only problem I had with the kit from ZZP was the crank shaft pully bolt was the wrong size. They sent one as part of the install kit but it was for the front wheel drive version of our motors (it was too long). I had to get the right one from a dealer. ZZP is aware of this so hopefully they have changed the kit but you might want to ask.

This cam should net you about 50 RWHP. If that don't get you well into the 11s, I don't know what will!

One minute you're going to run heads/cam, then you decide to just get rockers, then you're gonna do the heads + rockers, now you're going back to a cam? Make up your mind!

I would use 105 springs, 130 lbs is a lot of extra stress. Ask zooomer what he recommends.

ok i reread the original post, missed the part about the juice. However, i still think a GT cam would be better with juice than with a supercharger cam
