  • 4.2 stroker kit

here you go guys, a nodular cast iron stroker kit that is not a reworked crank! cost is only 2000 dollars. they also have a billet crank coming out soon. they have a distributer in the US in california so importing charges wont be a problem. the website for this is www.comeracing.com . I think this is a much better choice than the 4.1 from zzp and is worth the extra 500 bucks. I'll have more info about the cast crank and possible boost usage soon.

Just got a reply to email and they are establishing a dealer in California shortly with the entire kit running $2000 including shipping (subject to change, of course) It'd be interested to dyno this set up with the Abbott heads, intakes, cam, Texas Speed dyno tune package. Won't someone please step up to do this in the interest of science?

I'm really looking into this. I have to get the turbo system done first but then i plan on building up an engine for them.

oh and this is the reply i got from them about using the cast crank in a boosted application.

Our crank is a brand new nodular iron piece cast from similar material
to the 400ci Chev Small Block or Ford 351 Cleveland 4MAB V8 cranks.

Our crank will be 100% fine with Turbocharging even up to reasonable
                    boost levels (10-15lbs.)

I would not use a cast crank for Blowers with boost much over 10lbs. I
really don't know how much boost (blown) our crank will be able to
handle but from past experience with our other V8 cranks I think is is
not wise to overdo it with the torsional twist on the crank nose
                    applied
by a Supercharger. Turbos don't have this problem at all.

If you look carefully at our crank you will see the design of
counterweights is much stronger than the OEM piece. The crank is
                    beefier
everywhere it counts but a casting has its limits.

                    Sam

It sounds to me like the cast crank would even be fine for me with my 12psi goal so i think i'm gonna go for it. Everything he said made sense so i'll probably purchase their crank and put it in an l67 cam it, pnp heads and intake, some minor valvetrain and call it a build. I need to run my #'s again but i think this would be well over the 400hp mark and hella torque. I found a guy in town that said he could build my tranny up for 500 bucks so that will probably be happening soon. I totally psyched about this.

Why would you put an L67 cam in it?

Torque is great, but with vnt's and a 4.2, you'll be going through trannys like mad.

According to the technical database on this board, an L67 Cam is the same cam as the L36.

It's cool that more options are coming about these days... I hope that stroker kit does really well, even though i won't be buying one.

i strongly doubt that the cams are the same..

however i dont see the point in ptting a GTP cam into motor that dident come w/it..

I'm loving this idea, I have an l67 block and supercharger waiting to be done in the summer, it's too cold out to work in my garage. Can you see what the billet crank can take with a supercharger?

                              L36 + L67 use the same cam!!
L36 + L67 use the same crank...3800S2s have an advantage over most v8 because of the cross-bolt mains...that my friend is why the 3800 is a work horse...don't believe the hype...
