I am having some tapping type noise i thought was exshuast leak but i just replaced all exshuast from omtor back and have been listening and no leaks. I drove it to a shop i know and he knows i do all my own work and he said it sounded like a stucks or hanging lifter u hear the noise get faster with RPMS Help me test or maybe give suggestions i have the intakes off and all lifters out labeled

I'd just replace them with the OE-R lifters from Comp just to be safe. I have no idea how to test them.2000 Firebird. I would consider the Comp OE lifters maybe, but there's not any need for the "R" series on this one. For one, they are a PITA to setup and make sure you set the preload right and all. Just because they are expensive, doesn't make them best for the job! Kris, they make a product that is sold in part stores that is meant to free up stuck lifters and quite down noisy ones. It's not a general oil additive, it mentions lifters in the name even. Well matt IM me sometime man I already have the car disasmbled Lifters and intakes out of the car would this stuff work by soaking the lifters in them say overnight or do they need to be in car. I just dont want to button up moneter and not be fixed if you know what i mean. I would just take them apart and clean them. That is what I did to mine. I had one pumped up. I wish my lifters were 5 bucks a piece but io guess thats what u get when you own a 3.8L. You sprayed the insides real well with carb cleaner or something right?? You don't want a little piece of foreign metal to be inside one of them still.
