Its not even worth it. You have to change almost the same amount as you do with the V8 I heard, so its pointless. And its only 40 more hp and 25 more torque or so.

If I had everything I needed and the space, I would definitly consider doing a 3.8 swap. I'd like a V8, but for the foreseeable future a 6 makes a lot more sense and the 3.8 is one of the best out there hands down. Lots more aftermarket parts for the 3.8 since it's a 90* engine. The 3.4 you have is a 60* and there's almost nothing out there, we barely have headers for my engine while the 3.8 guys have 2-3 choices.

I think it would be pretty cool to see somebody put a 3.4DOHC in a Fbody. No idea if it would bolt up or even fit under the hood and windsheild but they have a great top end.

I saw a 96 Monte Lumina @ the track thursday w/the 3.4 cammer. intersting. more power than the 3800, but a bytch to work on/repair. In his car, he has to remove the upper intake manifold to do a tuneup. might not need to in a thirdgen, but 4th gen would really suck, as the current 3.4 intake is partially hidden by cowl.

They certainly crammed the small blocks under the hood, I thought the 4th gen v6 was bad until I saw an LS1 in a TA and couldn't even see half the plugs. They actually didn't get a 350 in there, the LS1 is really a 347ci small block with different bore and stroke than a traditional small block, no more 4 inch bore. The LT1, as far as I know, is a 350ci engine but I really don't know for sure, I'm really more interested in the older engines like the L98 and L05.

If you decide to go for it, theres an engine/tranny for sale in the For Sale forum for $600 (I think).
