cracked the ses light finally

Well I had my comp vs cam put in, in november and the day after i started to get the p0300 code and system to lean code and sometimes a few others. well today at work I cleared the codes once again, I did this daily. after that I put my MAF screen back in and the light hasnt come back on since. usually i would clear the codes and be fine until it would idle for more the 5 min's or go WOT. now no more codes and the idle is much smoother. I let it idle for 15 min's went WOT pretty much all night and its be fine. this is the first time that the light has been off for more that 10 min's with cam in, Im so happy. just thought i would let you guys know that this is a stupid and pointless mod IMO. the knowledge base says in essence that on the angled TB motors 95-98 the !MAF mod is worthless, and on straight TB models (99+) it is a minimal gain... it's nice to get more evidence to affirm that

i still think it is a stupid mod on my car(2000) and i wont do it. i dont like the idea of a rough idle

From what I've heard there are no performance gains and a rough idle...I'd rather have no codes than a rough idle....

Firefighter: If you don't mind me asking, how much did your cam and all related parts cost? Did you install it yourself? If not, how much was installation? Thanks! [img]smile.gif[/img]

the cam was 300, gaskets and stuff was about 100 and installation with a hook up was 500. then new mobil 1, pf52 filter, stat, redline water wetter and coolant. it was close to 1000 bucks.
