my buddy tld me that the GT cam would be to lowa duration, i should go more agressive and def put some rocker arms in there to allow or more air to enter for the longer duration.

you can't add much more duration without first getting comprehensive tuning. adding a lot of lift (by changing rocker ratio) to our stock heads will cause you some problems too; you will need to mill your pedestals / add better valve seals / replace stock with modified retainers.
that is a very basic rundown though; you will want to talk to somebody with more specific knowledge.

There's more to a cam than just duration. Lift, Lobe Seperation, and more are equally as important. An aggressive cam may well go beyond the limits of an otherwise stock engine. We can't tell you how a cam will act while just knowing that it's duration is > 220.

.525 is supposed to be the limit on stock heads, after that milling is required. I know Matt (One QuickV6) has his cam on stock heads with .528 lift. I really wouldn't suggest running any cam without at least having some minor headwork done.2000 Firebird. I dont think the added lift from 1.8 rockers is going to net you much more power. Its only going to give you problems. I would stick with the 1.6 stock rockers and try 220 duration if you want. You can still run high lifts with stock rockers, if you run high lifts with 1.8 rockers i think you will have problems. 1.8 Rockers are expensive anyways. Save your money.
