ok i took my egr valve off to clean it and i dont remember where the gasket goes in between the car and the valve or in the valve itself?

beneath the egr. I'm surprised it came off in one piece. I had to scrape the remainder of it off with a razor and put a new one on.2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph
