  • 3800 Series II Specifics... ?

Im pretty familiar with the 99 3.8L engine, and I understand that the FWD 3.8s (i.e. Grand Prix) and the RWD 3.8s (i.e Firebird) are different.

    My question is: how different?

The reason im asking is because Im considering an engine swap in my 1985 Fiero. Im very pleased with the 3800 in my firebird and would like to drop one in my fiero. There is a complete conversion kit including engine available but it utilizes the FWD version of the 3800. How hard would it be / what would be involved in utilizing a 90* engine instead of a 60* ??

I have a blown 1996 3.8 out of a camaro that i'd like to rebuild and install in the fiero.

    Just askin'

get a GTP motor kit for the fiero..

the differences are pretty irrelevent when you are swapping in a whole new motor..

I was gonna say the same thing. Id go with an L67 swap.

      Goto www.l67swap.com

They have a few Fieros over there that have done it.

Personally I'd go with the LT-1 swap. A 383 stroker LT-1 would send a Fiero into the 9's

to answer your question, there really isnt any difference between the FWD/RWD versions except for the intake and accessory locations.
