i'm trying to learn all i can from the other posts about this topic, but i'm still a bit confused as to what company sells the best cams for our cars.
i want the most bang for my buck for around $300. so far i have supersix motorsports... thats about it. please check my sig to see my current configuration, and let me know what you think. i plan on getting 3.42s w/ LSD shortly before/after the cams, and going with a B&B triflow catback and RK Sport headers in the spring.
i'm still kind of lost on the topic, so please help if you have any advice. THANK YOU.

Wow, you have a converter and open rear differential? That has to suck!!! I almost did that too.
You would do better to do the 3.42s/LSD, headers, and Triflow first. You'll definitely make a big difference with those 3 mods.

As for cams, well its all about how big you want to go and your future plans. Let us know what you plan for the car, like is it a strictly heads/cam car, or heads/cam/nitrous, or cam/nitrous, or heads/cam/blower or turbo, or what?
Is it a daily driver? Will you want it to be as powerful as possible with decent driveability or do you want it a bit more mild?

Answer those and we can help you better.

BTW, how do you like that converter?

yes, this is a daily driver car. i do not have any plans on getting a blower, heads, nitrous, or turbo. just the gears w/ LSD, cams, headers, and catback... then some small things such as MSD box, and Fast Toys Ram Air kit. other than that, i think i'll be as maxed out powerwise as i'd like to be. btw, yes i would like the car to be as beast as possible w/ these mods. thanks for any help!

... btw, the tc is AMAZING!!! it does set off the SES every once and a while, but otherwise, VERY worthwhile mod!

SES light? What code is it? Yanks have a tendency to do that on LS1's, didn't know it carried over to our cars. Get some gears and LSD on it, then you will really love the car, seriously.

Do you mind a lopey idle? Do you want to tune it using the MAFT+? Or do you want one that is more computer friendly?

yeah, i kinda want the most lopey idle possible... the meaner, the better.
btw, the SES code is "tranny slippage" when i put it in OD on long distance trips.

not to get off topic, but my tc is the super thruster 3500 (not sure if that makes a difference)... i talked to mike at yank, and i think he said that from time to time you can set off the SES w/ this set up.

Blk Bird, how do you like the ST3500? Do you have any track times? How well does it roast the tires?

Any info at all would be great. Thanks!

i was also wondering about a part # and price on that torque conv., and on the cam as well, i have the nos now so what would be a good cam, its pretty much a daily driver, except winters, so nothing too harsh, but i do want noticeable power and speed gains (duh!)

the tc is amazing!!! very noticable difference in being able to run w/ some definitely more powerful cars. as for roasting the tires, not so bad. i have nittos in the rear, so that helps a bit. i don't have gears or LSD yet, but when i get those, this may be a completely different story. i'll let you know. btw, magnus, your website has been very helpful... and very impressive! thanks.

btw, no track times yet
