I am thinking about the possibilities of a cam now that my top end is being taken apart. I live in California and my question is, is it possible to have a cam here and pass smog? Obviously I don't know much about them except basically a performance cam keeps open the valves longer = more air flow? I'm just not sure about the smog thing. So what do you guys think?

i think just about any cam can pass with good tunning
a cam just lest more air in th motor it could fail you but your motor is closer to 100% with it in there. im not an expert in cams though.....www.turbov6camaro.com
