Or you can jack up your rear end so that both tires are off the ground. Then turn one tire by hand. If the other tire turns, you have an LSD, if only one tire turns, you have an open.(atr least I think that works)
Or look at the RPO codes on teh inside of the driver side door and if one of the codes is G80, you have an AXLE POSITRACTION, LIMITED SLIP

First.. this is no where close to an Advance tech question.

Second.. there is a search feature on this board

Third.. What year is your car? Look on the door or inside the glovebox for the RPO code listing and look through those and see if you have the G80 code. If you have it you have LSD.. if not you do not.

wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

A Zexel Torsen differential does not work like this. This test will not work. Even if it did wouldnt it be 3000 times easier to look at a sticker?

Wasn't meant to be rude. Next time this goes in drivetrain since it has to do with the differential

</font>
Well Hawgs I guess you answered this post while I was editing my orig post.
If a Zexel torsen does not work that way, how come when I spin one tire, the other one spins?

BTW, he wasn't asking for the easiest way to tell, he was asking for a way to tell. Therefore I answered him with another way.

so that might explain why its hard to get the rear tires to spin. they chirp in second but first is REALLY hard to get to spin. thanks again guys this has been a great help.
