After looking through all the posts and not finding a really good answer about my current problem... I have a Jet stage II that I haven't installed yet, the engine is out still. I want to get rid of that speed limiter, it hinders passing while on the autobahn ;) . I have been told by a buddy that the PCM will not get rid of the limiter, so then I looked into getting a Hypertech. Well, they don't make the programmer for my car anymore, but I have found chips for it. Are these chips, able to be used with the Jet PCM? And I also heard that Hypertech used to make a programmer for my car, if I can find one of them, can it be used with the Jet PCM?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanx Shortdog... I just checked on the Jet site, and it don't seem that would nix the speed limiter. I will send them an e-mail to see if it does. Thanks again.
Anyone else?

And if you used the Hypertech programmer, you could use it with the Jet Chip assuming you don't enable the hypertech's performance increasing modification. Just use it to get rid of the limiter (which I'm pretty sure it can do).
Or you could sell the chip, get a programmer, and use hyptech for performance as well (this is assuming you can find one since you said they are no longer produced).
I don't know if you mean Chips for the hypertech or for your car. I do know that you cannot put a chip in recent F-body PCM's
Your only other alternative is custom programming.

What about Fastchip? Has anyone used this before? I just found the website through a buddy of mine. It looks like they have a programmer like the Hypertech. I could, in theory, use the fastchip programmer for the speed limiter and the PCM for the rest?

I have a Jet Stage II chip. It removed my speed limiter. How do I know. Welp, I hit 125 on the speedo and keep on going. :D
I went to the jet chip web site and found this.
Does JET Performance remove the speed and rev limiters?
It depends on the specific vehicle. On most chips, we eliminate the top speed limiter. The rev limiter is raised when possible and is completely dependent on the application. The SCU 2000, available for 1996-2000 GM cars and trucks (see catalog for specific vehicles) allows the user to remove the top speed limit. It will also allow the user to calibrate the speedometer for any changes made in tire size and/or gear ratio.
For other questions go to the F.A.Q. part on jetchip.com website. ;)
