    In case anyone is interested.

This month, Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine has a descriptive article on testing piston/valve clearance when selecting/changing the heads/cam on a 5.0 Liter.

Granted, the test should work the same on our 3.8L.

This is simply an interesting article to read.

LOL, when I was going to put nitrous on with my 4.11s, everyone said it's a horrible idea, and to never do it. But now everyone's going to say how good of an idea it is...

Anyway, I'm getting ready to replace my heads with ported heads, raise my compression to 10.4:1, put in a 212/216 .50"/.50" 112 cam, ported intakes, tb spacer, and high flow cat, I'm looking to work on you top NA guys when it cools down.

Goodluck racing this fall with the fixed car Magnus.

I replaced all the lifters.. Valvetrain is a LOT quieter now.. sounds good.

Knock retard remains. I repeat, knock retard remains. :(

At WOT the sensors pick up nothing! Just at low RPM's.. so perhaps its just picking up cam misfires through the headers.

Just to refresh. I get a FULL 15 degrees of retard instantly any time I punch it from low rpm's.. I get ful 15 when I cruse at low RPM's.. and the knock count just goes up like 50 knocks a second.

So.. the sensors are cunrrently unplugged. *sigh*.

Also Epic, CamaroZach and I went racing.. whacked some import with a hot chick in the pass seat. Then just Zach and I went out racing and met up with Bird OF Prey.. street racing is always so much drama.. too much talking not enough racing (On private property obviousely).

I don't understand what happens when you unplug your knock sensors. Does the computer not retard the timing then since the sensors are unplugged? How is your car running when they are unplugged? What is the problem with leaving them unplugged?

With the sensors unplugged the car doesn't add as much timing as it would with them in there.. I probably miss out on 4 degrees or so..

But from low RPM flash I miss out a lot.. The PCM just doesn't add that much in there to be safe.

The car launched much harder with good working functioning knock sensors.

What I might try is grounding out the sensors with a resistor.

Does this mean that all v6 with the powerpack will have these same issues?
