ok i have been researching this for bout a week now, but i dont know whats good in a cam and whats not. so i need some help.

too start out with my car is stock except for free-mods (02 v6). i have been looking at the cams on www.zzperformance.com and www.ftpp.net. i want to stay with stock heads but probably will end up upgrading some of the parts. the cams that have caught my attention is the GT2 cam from zzperformance.com and comp-customgrind1 cam from ftpp.net. are these two cams the best ones out there and can u run the comp-customgrind1 on stock heads? thanks again

My GT2 cam will be here tomorrow, but I'm also getting new lifters, pushrods, and SSM heads.
If I were you, I would not even be looking at cams until you at least do a complete intake/exhaust and some drivetrain mods.

The Comp Custom Grind on FTPP will not work with stock heads, but the GT2 will.

Don't you need pretty decent tuning after a GT2 cam?

            definitely a good idea...

there is some pretty basic information out there as to max lifts that stock heads can take, so i will go ahead and say sssssssssssssssssssearch

hard and fast version: most lift on stock heads: .530 (aftermarket retainers, consider seriously new valve seals)

timbo and pgriffith and onequickv6 will be able to help you more with this; they seem to have done their homework. check out the intense grinds too, the stage 1x is a pretty happy medium between the GT, "custom 1" (as you call it), and GT2 grinds.
