• SSM Powerpak question

I have a question about the Powerpak. I am wanting to get it but i would like to know if this would be a bad idea if my car was a daily driver. What would this do to my gas mileage. I have tried a search but haven't been able to come up with anything. Thanks alot guys

my car is my daily driver - when its not in the shop that is ;)
i wouldnt worry to much about gas mileage if i where you, i dont. i think i get about 240 miles to the gallon, but that is a guess if anything. i use a 1/4 of a tank to get to work, and i work 60 miles from my house, so that is how i figured that out.

i know for sure i dont even come close to that. my 240 was a guesstimation, but i am certain that it is pretty darn close.

It depends more on how you drive it than anything. Around town with all the idling I do I have seen 16mpg.

Yet on the highway I can maintain 30-32mpg anywhere from 70-110mph (cruise speed).

Keep your foot out of it and the fuel economy is fine... put your foot in it with a cammed engine though and it'll drop awfully fast. More power = uses more fuel.

Best I've ever done was 260 to a tank, most of the time it's 230 :(

I get anywhere from 250-300, depending on how long I stretch it out. Last tank I drove kind of heavy (a lot of miles with the cutout open as well) and got 17.XXX miles/gallon, all city.

Wow!! I got 378 on a full tank this weekend on my trip to mississippi. That was cruising at 80mph at 2900 rpms in overdrive. Man ive got to pull my diff cover off this week to see if ive got 3.73's in there.

i thought if you had 3.73 your gas mileage would go down - theoretically?

i have 3.73s and the power pack so i guess i should be happy with whatever gas mileage i get.

If it's got 3.73's, and the speedo is not corrected, then the odometer will read more miles than actual, making it look like better mileage...

I can get 330 miles on the highway, with factory 3.42's. Usually it's more like 240-250.

(edit - removed sig...)

Well....i know my speedo is correct because its been verified by a radar gun...right on the nose. There was another topic that i started in the drivetrain section awile back about this. According to alot of peoples caculations my rpms along with my speed say that i have 3.73's. But thats another topic. Sorry if im off topic.
