I put a 3.4 SFI into a 83 S10 Blazer 4x4 about 7 yrs ago.
Still running strong. I put all the PCM and controls in it as the 83 had nothing but a electronic carb with 200ft of vacuum line.
Also doing a 3.1(92 Firebird) into a Maserati for my neighbor.
Only problem I had with the 4x4 was the speed sensor.
I went to an electronic speedo and newer style tach to go with the DIS.
