Is 5 grand too muck for a dealer swap install for a 350 and trans? He said everything would work...AC/ all that stuff. Anyone? Got some mods like exaust, waiting for whisper lid, but was thinking of it some time in the future. How do know if that high gear package is on your car? My vin is 2g2fs22k9x2206362 Thanks jessica

5k sounds good if its all brand new... like I posted in the lounge, its all good, we have all posted in the wrong places lol.

I dont have carfax, but u can look at the numbers on ur door panel, look for Y87, I think thats the code, if it says that then u have a posi rear end with I THINK 3.42s, I might be wrong.

Another option is to go to http://www.tacreationsusa.com/ and get a used V8 setup and have a shop install it, all together might be cheaper.

What you COULD do is take that $5k, and join the V6rs in the quest to topple the V8s.. ..MUHAHAHAHA...

do whatever you want, but w/ 5k in mods to your v6, you would easily rape an ls1 just my opinion

Really??? Ill be getting about 2 grand tax return soon what would be a good idea? It only has 39,000 miles on it and I have a 2 year 24,000 extended warranty on it, so I have to be careful who I take it too. Just got it two weeks ago. Thanks!

by the way... i'd definately cash in that extended warranty since you probably already voided it with the exhaust... You can out it towards more mods.. i'd get a cam and a supercharger.. and HPTuners!

So Jessica, what all does that $5K include? Does it include the engine, trans, PCM, etc, or is it just the labor to do the install? Sounds kind of interesting.

I think shes talkin the whole deal, which is extremely nice when u think about it. I wonder if any dealers here in H-Town would do that...

The 5k includes everything, that's what they told me. The sales guy is really cool, and gets me some good deals on stuff. He told me if I wanted leather interior he could get it done for 900.

That's not a bad price. You're going to spend $3500+ just for a used ls1 engine/trans/pcm combo. Most places that are familiar with it and can do it fast are going to charge $1000+ for the labor.

You should get the v8 springs, shocks, swaybars too. And they'll have to do something about the gas tank and fuel lines since the v6 has a return line and the v8 doesn't.

There are two ways you can tackle that particular fuel line problem. 1) just get v8 fuel lines and replace v6 lines. 2) get a 97 corvette fuel rail. It is the only LS1 that had the provisions for a return fuel line.

i would do it but check to see what it includes.
You will also need sub-frame connectors. My car is in the shop right now getting a built lt1 and 900 dollar racing tranny i am also going with lsd&373 in the rear the tech said to keep the v/6 springs for suspension as they are softer ie better launch at the track also you will want low trailing arms and a new panhard bar also helps with the launch. Anyone can put power under the hood but you got to be able to get it on the ground without spinning.
the faster our cars go the slower they seem.

Heres your vehivle build straight from GM. Usually they put what each component is right next to the code. Either way look around here I know theres a link in the modification encyclopedia that tells you what each thing is. Good luck
