Well, I stop the ticking noise. It was the EGR. The bolt that hooks into the exhaust manifold must of not been tight enough. I tightened it as much as I could and went driving down the road and no more ticking noise. Well, there is still a little, but you really have to listen for it. The only way I could hear it is to have the window all the way down and hang my head almost out the window. LOL. Glad no one was around. hehe.. I'm going to tighten the EGR bolt that is attached near the throttle body and try to tighten the other bolt at the exhaust manifold a little more. That should take care of my problem completely. Thanks again everyone for your help.

I used a socket wrench. I did have to pry the engine bracket back a little. that helped so much. after that all went smooth. have any other questions just let me know.

Just a litle tid-bit, i spent the entire weekend taking off my Plentum, lower inatke manifold, and both valve covers off (had a COUPLE leaks  ) and i did the same thing with that D@mn engine bracket, double check and make sure that it isnt rubbing on the heater hoses that are back there. If it is either bend it back or stick a piece of rubber back there to keep it from rubbing a hole in that hose.

Dont roller rockers make more noise than standard rockers ?? My mom has a 2500 HD Silverado with roller rockers and it made a ticking noise sometimes also, we took it to the dealership while it was under warranty and they said that its just the roller rockers not to worry about it  ...
But congrats with the install!!

If it only does it on startup thats the piston slap issue. No harm to the motor though, its normal. I used to have a 6.0l 2500... piston slap / ticking on startup is completely normal for that motor.
