• frequent ICM failure?

i'm 99.99% sure my ignition control module went out AGAIN today, less than a year after it originally failed. suffering from the same symptoms as last time; don't know about the code because local parts stores won't scan it.

my question is this: does anybody (looking in magnus' and onequickv6's direction) know if these things are prone to failure? i know it's happened on quite a few members' cars, but to happen twice on the same vehicle in less than a year? that points to a design error to me, especially if it's failing because of the same reason... from what i understand the hull cracks and allows water to seep in which corrodes all the innards.

i think i'm getting aggravated...

    update...

replaced the ICM this afternoon and it did nothing other than take the SES light away, checking for continuity in the coils tomorrow and making sure all the plug wires are attached.
