I've been getting the urge to add some significant power to my V6. I've been thinking about the possibility of a NA cam, such as the ZZPerformance GT cam or maybe a custom grind. I don't want to have to change out the heads, springs, retainers, pushrods, etc. Just the cam and the install is all I want to pay for. What I want to do is get a cam that I can see power from right now, but to choose something that will not hold back any power from a future turbo setup. What I want to accomplish is to make around 200 RWHP or more, be able to pass CA emissions, maintain good gas mileage, and a nice mean sound, well for a V6 anyways. I will be getting the custom PCM tuning from HP Tuners soon and I can always get another tune if/when I put a cam in.

An emission passing cam is an ok turbo cam, for your basic turbo cam you want some thing a little bigger than stock.
If you don't change out your valve springs out for new stronger and stiffer ones you will lose high end power.
Even if you don't have to you should get better ones.
I have seen people get more 20hp (on V8's) with nothing more than changing valve springs form a stock like 1.25'' diameter to the bigger 1.46'' wide springs.\'85 Z28, T-tops new LG4 and TH700
\'85 3.4L 5-speed
mods: http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4 the nitrous exhaust O2 safety, pg 3.
Areo space materal engineer wantabe

the cam you described pretty much doesn't exist.
there is no such thing as a good NA/FI cam. you have to decide which way you want to go. There is no point in getting a cam that wont be that much of an improvement N/A or forced induction. also if you want a cam with a lot of lope and mean sound you will probably have to replace rockers, springs, lifters, and pushrods. I know it sounds depressing but until someone comes out with a miracle cam thats what you have to do.1994 white Firebird M5
Flowmasters, CAI, 3.73s, LSD, coated pacesetters, eibach pro-kit, bilsteins, hurst shifter, JVC stereo, 18\" C5 vette wheels, Kuhmo Ecsta ASX rubber

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/744299

Coming Soon: Turbo!

You can't have a great N/A and FI cam.
A big N/A cam is very bad for boosting.
A real good turbo cam will kill your low end when used N/A.
A slightly bigger than stock N/A cam is an ok boost cam, an improvement over stock is about all.\'85 Z28, T-tops new LG4 and TH700
\'85 3.4L 5-speed
mods: http://www.cardomain.com/id/oil_pan_4 the nitrous exhaust O2 safety, pg 3.
Areo space materal engineer wantabe

Try ZZP's VS cam. It's mild enough that you can probably use stock springs (although sport springs are recommended) *shouldnt* throw an SES, and using desktop dyno, showed decent gains N/A and moved the powerband up a bit. That's my plan anyway.
