• PCM Firm Shift Mod

This mod is for 4L60E or 4L80E only! Use a triple throw switch. In the first position, use a resitor with a 27.2 ohm value. (Position 1 firmness) The second position, use no resisitor. (Off position) The third position use a 5.2 ohm resistor. (Position 2 firmness) Remember all this mod does is change the amount of current going to the pump. The less resistance, the more current to the pump, which equals a harder shift. Beware this could cause pre-mature failure of your pump overtime. If you really wanted to get kinky, you could always run position 3 straight, without a resistor for a killer shift. (Race only) Anyways, back to install. Remember 98 & up 4L60E's, the car should be off before putting the switch in the desired position. Now find your (White harness) on your PCM. Connect to terminal #36(Light Blue w/White stripe) for position 1. Connect to terminal #39(Red w/Black Stripe) for position 3. Mount your switch & your done. All feedback & questions welcome!

so in other words...screw your tranny up by spending 30$ on the B&M...or save the 30$ you'll have to spend on rebuilding your whole F*cking transmission...and build the thing yourself....your one smart cookie lemme tell ya

well... to his credit... there have been people who have used the B&M for a while and never screwed the tranny. I guess they probably didnt have it on all the time.... and theyll probably screw things up eventually. Just spend the extra money and get the shift kit to help out your tranny

yea, it seems liek the same thing as the b&m, BUT wouldn't a tranny cooler solve most of the problems? the only thing that seems to come harm from this would be that it creates more friction, ala more heat? right? so a tranny cooler would make this a nice mod? tell me if i'm wrong

NO SHIFT KIT is good for our trannies. the electronic shift improver is a piece of and even the $110 trango's are bad for the transmission. you don't believe me? read this...

Well, if you dont like the mod, dont do it.. just dont flame other people... I've never seen any proof of it destroying transmissions. In fact, my transmission went out at 60,000 miles without any mods to it, so it's not always the mods that do it. but whatever flame away

i told them my opinion that shift kits were bad for our transmissions--no flaming at all.

OK, and to clear up another thing or two... I copied this off of LS1.com, I don't understand how it works because it does not create a complete curcuit, but if anyone knows how this works, or has tried this, let me know.

The transgo wont kill your tranny, i have talked with several guys who know a boatload about trannys and they say it does increase line pressure but just get a tranny cooler and it wont destroy your tranny.
