I spoke with someone over at ZZP, and was told these would fit. I'll post up details when I get them.
g
Yes, they would be a good size to upgrade to, but you will need to cut and splice in new injector connectors to use those. Thats why I why suggesting 04+ GTP injectors because they might be the same connnector.
The one question is I have a set of 8 28lb ls1 injectors.. would they work on my fuel rail with out modifications?? I have a stock 98 firebird fuel rail with stock 22lb injectors on it..
Jeff ..
1998 Firebird.. Built 3.8 with a 125 shot.. 370rwhp,415rwtq.. stock tune!! sold

Well, according to posts above and what I have heard in the past, 2000+ fbodys use the multech injectors. Im not sure whats better about them, but they have a different electrical connector.
This is what is says on zzps site next to those injectors:"Newer cars with the Multech 2 style injectors will need injector connectors to use these. Cars with longer than standard injectors will need an older style fuel rail and the injector connectors."

Yes, they should go right in without any problems on 95-98 3800s. I believe the injectors little g posted are LS1 injectors. They are referred to 28# injectors in the LS1 world because LS1 have a higher fuel pressure than we do, thus pushing more fuel out. At our 43 psi, they are 25#. At least thats what I heard. silverbird, those should fit fine. double check and do a quick visual on the electrical connector and you can also put the new injector right next to one that is still on the car to check for height.
your 1998 should be good to go.

littleG,
I don't like zzp for these reasons. they have goofy literature on their website, everything fits according to them, etc, etc.
take this paragraph for example. it contradicts itself and it also contridicts what they told you.
"Newer cars with the Multech 2 style injectors will need injector connectors to use these. Cars with longer than standard injectors will need an older style fuel rail and the injector connectors."
I don't know what they mean by 'longer than standard' because as a standard multech2 connectors are SHORTER than bosch style (older) injectors...so if you have a 'shorter' fuel rail why would you need to 'shorten it?' further...why would you buy those fuel injectors if you already had Bosch style connectors and a bosch style (length) fuel rail.
So...those injectors are SIZED to be multech2 but do not use multech2 connectors....very odd. hmm...i have an idea...how about offering...oh...i don't know...real multech2 injectors? otherwise we will just do what we have always done...adapt the few rail and the connections and run bosch style injectors.
sheesh...what a rant. i guess i have issues.

oh yea...i forgot to post this sentence fragment from the zzp literature i pasted above...
"They use a standard Bosch style connector...:
alright...those sound like perfect multech2 compatible injectors to me...sheesh.
ok...maybe i shouldnt be quite so hard on them. they look like they are the correct size to fit our 2000+ fuel rail but they will still need bosch style electrictal connections to be wired in. nobody mkes plug and play electrical adapters yet.

Even though I sold my Firebird, I figured I will give you guys some help. I called Delphi (they make the injectors for the 2000 - 2002 V6's). I spoke with a guy named Chuck in there Technical Support Division. He said they make a MultiTech 2 injector in the 30-36# range. He is looking up the part number and will have it to me ASAP. He will also give me the phone number where they can be ordered. Hopefully, the search will soon be over.
We haven't measured the length of the injectors that Little G got, but we have confirmed that the plugs are different. Those Delphi ones look like they will work much nicer
I haven't given up. Now that I know the Delphi number of our injectors, I will call them back to see if there is a direct replacment in the 30-36# range. I have been to busy at work the past two days but hopefully tommorrow I will give them a call.

Yeah, there are replacements, the 04+ GTP injectors and mustang cobra injectors like I posted earlier.
