• Anyone using LS1 injectors?

I'm maxxing out my 22lb injectors and I don't want to overkill upgrade to the 36lb L67 injectors. I have means to get a hold of some 26 or 28lbs from a friend. Would this be a direct replacement? The tuning end is taken care of, I'm just wondering if they'll fit. Thanks for your support.

On a 2002 you will have to modify the fuel rail and change the electrical connectors. It is a pain but doable. I did it using 36# GTP injectors but they are basically the same as LS1 injectors, just a higher flow rate. Good luck.

I have been researching this topic quite a bit. thanks for all the info Art and I think Steve have shared on this board.

I couldn't quite figure out 'what' they were shortening on the fuel rail until I went out and looked last night. yep...gonna be a pain in the butox. It does look quite workable to shorten the fuel rail mounting legs but a hassle and time consuming. it is also possible to splice in bosch style connectors...again time consuming with solder and shrink tubes.
some converters WOULD be a boon for quickly changing from multec2 to bosch rather than splicing in injector connections. bummer.

Are there still no multec2 style injectors that FIT our cars and come in different sizes? I don't expect companies to rush out make things for a proprietary nich item like our 2000+ multec2 injectors but it HAS been a while now. I can;t find anything.
I am hoping that a whalbro255 and the fmu will be enough when I move to 9 psi. (hp tuners real soon)

I believe 03+ GTPs have the multec2 injectors. I also remember reading they were changed from 36 lb to like 32 lb at the same time.

I am running GTP 36 lb injectors without shortening the fuel rail. The injectors are shorter but mine are sealing fine.

RedFrk13: it looks like you have a 1996 L36 engine in your S10. Congrats on your conversion, however, the issue with the Bosch/multec2 injectors regards the year 2000+ fbody L36 stock ruel rail is not plug and play with bosch style injectors..(ie. gtp 36 lb)

Thanks for the heads up on the 03+ GTP's having multec2 injectors. That is great news and a great lead I can reseach further.

good news.

So let me get this straight.. If you have a 2000+ 3.8 you will have to mod the fuel rail to fit the LS1 or GTP injectors, but if you have a 99 and below 3.8 you dont have to mod the fuel rail its just plug and play??

yep. and the bosch style injector connectors need to be spliced in as well.

not all multec2 injectors are the same, either. they come in different dimensions. trying to track down what injectors would fit my car has been a pain to say the least. I realy don't want to mod the fuel rail. that pretty much throws out
(simple) de modding of the car and i would much rather spend the extra bucks on new injectors to save on my own labor time.

when and if I ever get a list of part numbers for plug and play 2000+ v6 fbody injectors i know exactly where I will post the list.

yea, i havent bothered considering swapping out to an earlier fuel rail becuase once I have my stock fuel rail out i could shorten the mounting legs. it would save a little labor so long as everything elese is compatibe...but the electrical connections still need to be modified.

if i found a wrecked v6 in a junk yard I would take the fuel rail and all the connectors....but that would add to the cost of any bosh style injectors i would also be buying.

Well then its 04+ GTPs that switched to a different injector plug. I know they switched around there somewhere or zzp would not be selling the adapters for them to splice in.

Are you guys sure the fuel rail changed on 2000+ fbodys. As I stated above, my stock 96 injectors are also longer than 98 gtps, but I put them in without modifying the rail just to see if they seal and they did.

Eventhough this doesnt apply to me, I decided to be nice and do some research for you. If thats the same plug as you, it looks like you have a few options to upgrade to.

I spoke with someone over at ZZP, and was told these would fit. I'll post up details when I get them.
