It is something to be proud of.. and if you are looking for an accomplishment to be proud of do a SC..

Or you could do an engine swap and be proud of that to..

If you are looking for raw sound and power though, then your only option is the V8 swap.

yeah, if you want to be proud get the supercharge.
But if You really want to be proud and FAST get the V8
not that a supercharged v6 won't be fast, but my point is how reliable would be if you invest $4000 or $5000 on the supercharge only forgeting about forged internals to support the new power.
you could put $10000 easy to get something reliable.

without counting the spray, how many 13 second V6s are out there now?

ok heavily modded 13 sec V6s line up and show yourselves!

now, all you heavily modded V6s that have had good runs but more bad issues, stand up and show yourselves.

i am not the only one who has had a bad experience with the 3800. there are more people in my group that people want to admit. where are all the greats now?

think about it guys. why am i the only one who sees this? where are all the power packers? where are all the heads/cam people? sure we have 1 person that throws in a cam and runs 13s - GREAT! 1 out of how many?

supercharge/turbo is awesome. that was my original plan. i then choose all motor. and yes i went down hill from there, but am i the only one? i dont think so. so think of what you want. do you want to go fast in an untamed car, or do you want to go fast in a reliable car? remember i too wanted to be original and fast, and now i am - with the swap!

and another thing, not everybody has a V8 and even less people have cammed V8s. now that is a beaut.

and not everybody and thier grandma can drop in an 8, cause if that was the case there would be more of them out there.

and yes it is true that when you drop an 8 into your 6 all you ended up with is a Z28 or SS.....is there something wrong with that? with my SS hood poeple would say "but its just a 6" and now when they now its an 8, they say "badd azz car"

2 words: Stealth Factor.

You see a nice looking Camaro, has exhaust, but no Z28 badges, no ss badges, doesnt sound like a V-8, easy target, right? Wrong. Swoosh, you're gone and left mr. mustang with his thumb up his arse. ;) That would be more rewarding than a V-8 LS1 that everyone knew was modified, even if a LS1 was faster.

Ok so there arent to many really done up V6's out there. Thats the big point! Because if u do up a V6 is will be more unique. Something special, because not many people do a 6 that can kick major *** . So when u see one its Special

My NA V6 was very reliable. I had the knock issue but it seems many cam/converter A4's have that problem..

My new LS1 though.. damn.. I'm lucky if I can keep it on the streets for 2 weeks at a time without seeing several weeks of down time.. (my own fault though)

unreliable: nino, slacker69, royce lugo

reliable: magnus

come on people, put your name on your list!

EDIT: magnus dont count cause his reliable V6 was quickly turned LS1. he didnt give it time to prove reliability.

I ran a compcam, Ported heads, ported intakes, headers, full exhaust, good intake, pretty much all the bolt ons and my car was very streetable and reliable. Drove it for about 6 weeks untill i found fuel in the oil and the engine seized up. Cause still undetermined.

that doesnt sound reliable to me. i drove mine around forever and then i found i had a broken valve guide. still the car drove, never left me stuck. but driving with a broken valve guide or fuel in the oil sounds very unreliable to me.

what i am trying to point out here is that people who have torn into their engines for some reason have bad luck. when i say heavily modded i guess i mean "heads/cam" - some kind of motor work. i dont call cai, rksport headers, catback, posi and 3.73s heavily modded. i call it nice, but not heavily modded.

could it be that every single one of us suck as mechanics? no, cause i never did any of my own work. could it be that the mechanics that do our work suck? yes, i quess that could happen. so whats the deal with everybody who has motor work has problems?

Granted, get the ls1
we are the live proof that it takes a LOT of money to get a fast and RELIABLE V6. and again i'm not saying that a supercharged/turbocharged v6 won't be fast. it would be, as a matter of fact there are people in this forum who already have done it and their cars are fast, i was reading on the kill stories about how he can hang with z28's or mustangs gt's. now i won't argue the fact that they're proud nor the amount of money they have invested cause is not of my bussiness,i'm happy for them cause they have their dream cars, but with that money i would have get the ls1 (this is only my opinion). you could hang with a z28 or rustang gt but remember the price you would have to pay. either way you would pay, but ls1 power and proven reliability and a few mods and you would say bye bye to those FAST v6's

If everyone had V8's then there would be nothing special about them. also Nino u said your car had a broken valve or something adn it still ran. I think thats pretty reliable. Also u say a car has to be reliable but it also depends on how the owner takes care of the car. If u go around beating the hell out of any car it is going to brake sooner or later. So alot of factors go into reliabilty so lets not blame all 3800 modded V6's to be unrelialbe ok?
