SO I attempted to install my SSM heads myself a while back. It didnt go so good. The driver side head started leaking water.
I couldnt figure out why. I thought I was just a terrible mechanic. So instead of making a second go at it I decided to Pay a real mechanic to do the heads/cam swap for me.
So He gave me a call today and said he pulled the heads off. Block surface looks ok and the head surfaces look ok. He says the gasket blew because of BOLT TORQUE. He says some of them were very tight and other's were very loose.
So I had the torque wrench that I used tested and it was WAY off. So really its not my fault. If I would have had good tools when I did the job I would have been able to pull it off.
Makes me so angry its the tools fault. But atleast I no longer feel as much like a failure.
Anyway I should have the car back some time next week.
