as for the engine codes, yes i was aware of the difference.
i have seen the rods and they look/feel like regular cast iron (like my 3.8 rods) too me. i myself would not trust them

son of a *****... you really need to stop spreading false information about the 3.4L motor viper04af

the stock rods are forged, and they have been proven to handle over 7000 RPM

i was not, i said they looked and felt the same TO ME

And that I would not trust them......

and just because they rev to 7 K rpm does not mean they a re forged.......

stock 3.8 rods will do that....

Bye the way how are these poelpe using stock rods reving there 3.4 to 7K RPM? how are they tuning the spark and fuel?

link me to this info that they are forged..... please.........

dude.. you did infact say they werent forged numerous times. did you know that all metals excpet for copper and gold look the same in their pure form? to the naked eye its quite nearly impossible to tell the difference between two similar alloys. now im not saying that some forged rods look different from cast. i'm saying that you cant possibly make your assumption on looks alone. if a material is made of martinsite or bainite or if its austinetic, you usually cant tell from just looking at it, but all three deliver completely different material properties.
some of the 660's that turn 7k use distributors. im not sure of all their specifics. i'd lead you to a site where they congregate but i dont wanna step on any toes on this site seein as how i feel camarov6 kicks major ***....

I just got done taking a metallurgy class this Summer so I learned about cryo treating. Basically you lower the temperature so low that the metal undergoes recrystalization. The random crystal structures in the metal realign and form a nice lined up network of small grains, which are ideal for high strength. Any residual stresses or strains put on the original crystal structure during the forging/casting/cold working process they used to make the part would be removed as the grains realign.

exactly bigred... thats pretty much what i said above only we both explained it differently...

oh, off topic but why did you have a metallurgy class? what are you going to school for?
