Hey guys,
I have a '99 Camaro. If I get myself a different PCM say from a 2000 or 2001 model, who can do a custom program for it to compensate for all the mods that were done to the car?

Keep me posted if you find someone that'll reprogram it for you.
Well, I talked to a bunch of companies and noone does custom programming for v6's I guess. I don't know what the deal is.
Anyway, what will happen if I pull the original '99 PCM out of the vehicle, and throw in a 2001 PCM that came out of a '01 v6 w/auto transmission (my vehicle is also auto)? Could I simply get a Hypertech programmer for an '01 model and use that? My main concern is getting my speedometer fixed or at least as close as possible to being correct (I have 3.73 gears).

Thanks<hr></blockquote>
I have done this very same thing..... Mine is a 99 Auto. I will update my website soon with what I did..... I Changed out the 99 PCM for a 01 PCM. As long as it is one out of an 3.8 Auto trans you will be fine. 00 thru 02 are the same PCM's. Then just used the HPP to recalibrate everything. I have 3.73's also....Now, HPP does not have a setting for 3.73 gears. You will have to use the GU6 3.42 setting and adjust your tire height to compensate. Also. Beware you may have altenator problems like I did. I had to bypass the PCM to fix that problem

I just popped in the 01 pcm into my car and this is real weird ... it starts up and shuts down. The service engine light is on and the car won't run for more than a couple seconds. Any ideas?

Alright this is getting weird. I called ZZPerformance and the dude I talked to, Tim said he can ship me a PCM for a '99 Camaro that is tuned with all the mods being accounted for. He said he can fix the speedo to work with the 3.73 ratio gears, he adjusts the timing, modifies the shiftpoints and bunch of other stuff. Once it comes in I have to send my original back to him (there is a 120$ core charge if I don't send the original back.) The whole thing costs $400 which is steep but it's a lot more worth it than a Hypertech programmer. Meanwhile I popped my original PCM back in and the car runs normally like it used to. The '01 PCM I got my hands on is going back to where I got it for a refund.
Hopefully the new pcm from ZZPerf. will just work and I'd be happy
ZZ performance did a good job with my pcm. How they did it and what all goes on doesn't matter. What matters is that it works great and there have been absolutely no problems with it what-so-ever. Custom pcm has been in my car for several months now. You will be glad you did this. Good luck.
Hello every one, ozzy here ive been looking at this page for weeks now finally joined. So my question is why is it that every turbo build forum just ends...
Just ordered some Toyo 315/35/17 tires for my 17x11 rims. Hopefully I can get them on the beginning of next year. Will post pics.
