not saying power steering is a neccesity.
Jsut saying a system designed for powersteering with no powersteering can be rough.
If you convert to a manual steering rack like 12secv6 did I am sure its much better.-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251

With a manual steering box, parking lots can still be a bit rough, but normal driving is a breeze.

It also might be worth noting that a mechanical waterpump puts less drag on an engine than an electrical one. If you want to do an electric waterpump conversion for the control (thermostat adjustment, after shutdown water circulation) then ignore this point. But to just install one hoping for more power will not work. Your alternator places as much resistance to your engine as the load placed on it. Adding an another electrical load from an additional electrical accessory will be a net zero gain in HP. You might even end up losing power since it costs HP to convert from mechanical to electrical power then back to mechanical power at the pump.Chris
92 Isuzu pickup, dropping in a 3800
