    Hey what going on i purchased a 1999 firebird a couple of weeks ago for 2800 well the car was never mainted still ahd the original spark plugs at 125,000 miles well i was in the process of tuneiin it up little by little im 16 and only have a little cash well when i cleaned the radiator i saw some brownish crap so i thought rust but my dads thought block sealer well i drove it about 20 more miles after i flushed the radiator and it made the weird clanking noise like a broke rod or spun bearing well today i broke it all down on an engine stand and a bearing is not spun and a rod is not cracked wtf there alout of gunk build up but nothing internal is broke what could have been making the clanking noise and i could hardley run it please help im frustrated also maybe there a crack in the blokc i saw some coolant in the intake but i think it was form the water jacket

    Someone mixed green and orange coolant. Flush and fill with green.

      while your down there might as well re-ring her lol

      and put in new lifters to

      new water pump

      new oil pump to and new timing chain

        How much do u think it would cost for all that waer pump, oil pump, rings, and lifters ive looked around but everyone only has perfromance lifters ad there like 550

          the comp cams OE litfters or a great up grade from stock

          water pump not sure on

          oil pump it like 10 bucks i think

          ring are about 100 bucks from GM

          but you would have basically new motor again

            well i knwo i cant afford piston im looking to probaly spend about 500 in parts and probaly another 500 in machien shop work does any one know how much it caused to seal a crack in the block i think i have one because my mainm bearing was spun so that probaly means water got in through somewhere and caused to it spin i wanted to get a cam till i saw how much they were i think i got a guy to port and polish my heads for 100 so i got 400 for parts so if yall know any aprts that really work great for under 400 please let me know im looking to try to run 9's in the 1/8 i already have the 3.42 gears and im not into 1/4 miels so im not intrested in nos or turbos
