I've been looking at that software and am all over it. I can't wait to get it.

I hope to plunk down the bills in the next month, and I woiuld love to contribute to the "perfect tunes"idea.

Keith is a smart guy and I know he loves us, so I'm sure he's already thought of something along that idea. But I still think it should be connected to this site somehow.

Well, we have thought of doing something like that on our web site but there is big liability involved. We will not be hosting binaries in the near future.

We do encourage our customers to put these types of sites together and such. I believe horist on ls1tech.com is builing a site very similar to that and there are several members on our forum (hp tuners forum) that have created some nice web applettes that help the tuning process.

Thanks for the kind words!

Guys , I'm making a site that will act as a HP Tuners bin repository

so long as I don't get too bogged down at work It'll be fully operational by this weekend

Feel free to send me any of your .bin files
mike@horist.com

Please include :
Make Model Year
Engine
Mods
Description of what you changed in the tune
Rear Gear
Transmission Type

Also let me know if you want your name and/or email posted w/the .bin file (by default I will not list either, but if you specifically say it's ok I will add them )

I will get the link up as soon as I finish up the page (for now it'll be real simple... backend is database driven, files are stored on a seperate server , new files will be added manually... if there's enough demand I'll make the addition of new files automated)

Thats Great to hear I have looked at the software and didn't get a chance to tune my car, because of a failing O2 sensor I found when monitoring the first time. I would love to just pull a .bin and upload it with the parameters I want changed.

so I can just plug a 97 computer into my 96 M5 and I can tune it? that would be great because everything I had read told me I was screwed. do you anticipate offering this software for a long time( I wont need it for awhile)or is it just a limited thing. thanks.

You can plug in a 97 computer into your 96 without problem. Just make sure it is for the right transmission (a4 or M5).

Yes we will be offering it for a long time.

Looks good can't wait to start seeing files up.

Maybe I'll do some custom tunes and post them If I ever get some free time!

Where are these web applets that help tuning. I searched the HP Tuners site and I can't find them anywhere. Anyone got any links?

ok so say i buy the program and stuff.. and load someones .bin file from that website to my car cuz they have same mods as mine, and i go drive around and dont like the results. can i just like go download someone else's .bin and load that and it will instantly change everything right there and then go drive around and see if theirs is any better or worse? so im saying once i load the .bin file, it instantly changes everything and PCM doesnt have to get used to the settings?

When you flash the PCM the LTRIMs are reset to 0 I believe... so you'll still need some driving cycles to see if the tune really fits you... may have to do some tweaking still...

as for taking someone elses tune and flashing your PCM with it... i'm not 100% sure if that works... I think as long as the first checksum is the same between what's in your PCM and the tune it will work...

my original intent with the site was to offer people the chance to see what others are doing as far as tuning then make those changes themselves... kinda a learning tool... however if the .bins can be used as plug and play tunes even better
