  • Tunning coming in!

Got my shipping confirmation and my computer tunning form Texas speed is coming in on the 9th. Is there anything i need to know about installing this? Or do i just unplug the battery and then the pcm and then put it in?

    how long does it take?

did you have to send your original PCM to them?

    was there a core charge?

I just got pcm tuned from texas speed. charged me 150 plus shipping. It seemed as if he did it in a rush and he didnt tell me 100% what he did to it. kinda like, "i adjusted the fuel up top, deleted all the bs codes, ste it up for my 4.10s, that sort of thing". It was a little shady but it should be ok. My SES light was finally off for the first time in 2 years but after a week with my tuned pcm the light went back on, so im gonna try and get it scanned. But yes, all u do is plug it right back in.

It was 150, and i didn't want my car to be down so core was 100 bucks. but i got in on a deal, so i don't know if he will honor that. It only took a phone call a couple of minites, and now a couple of days for shipping.

Do i need to un do the battery first or anything!? Or do i just straight take out the pcm and put in the new one? That easy?
I didn't send them my pcm. They are sending me a new one, i can't have my car be down, it is my daily driver.

I'd unhook the battery to be safe. Just incase a jolt of power shocks your pcm or something.

Definately unhook the battery until all wires are properly plugged back in. You won't get shocked.....it's only 12V, but if there is a spark it could fry the electronics. And the spark does not even have to be big enough to be visible.

I had texas-speed do me a tune as well. I should be getting it next week. Except mine was $200 plus $75 for core. I talked to Jason on the phone down there, he is the guy that does all the programming and from what i spoke with him he seems very confident in his tunes. If he sounded shady you probly werent asking the right questions. He answered all my questions very well. Now if you werent talking to Jason you maybe you should have been?

As far as the install on the pcm goes. Unplug the batt from the car. Unplug the PCM from the pass side on the rear of the engine compartment under the hood. Theres a small black plastic casing the pcm sits in, take that out and unplug the 4 bulk connecters going to the pcm, remember or label them so you know where they go. Then i believe there are 3 other connecters on the passenger side under the dash, disconnect those, and again label or remember where they go, you should now be able to pull the pcm out. Install the new one in reverse. Its very easy but make sure all your connections are tight, plug in the batt and you should be good to go.
