  • First Time at the DYNO...........

    With the constant tweaking I am doing with Air/Fuel Ratio's and on a minimal budget I took my car to get dynoed for the first time....

    August 8th 2003 (DYNOJET)
    Temp 86 Degrees
    Humidity 82%

    My car is at stock weight
    61000 miles with factory tune up parts still on car
    I am still running stock manifolds, Running through the exhaust, Stock Convertor, and 3.73 Gears which is a 4 to 5 RWHP loss but quicker acceleration....

    178.4 RWHP 214.2 RWTQ SAE Corrected

    Air/Fuel Ratio a WOT was pretty much 13.0 across the Board. Doesnt get much better than that...

    New track munbers to come after F-Body Event on the 16th....

    gears shuld not effect your hp readings..

      gears affect tq, which slightly affects hp.

        Gears do affect torque but a good dyno should be able to compensate for that.

          The numerically higher gear 3:73 or 4:10 will cause u to drop in hp on the dyno. my gear jump was from 3.08 to 3.73....Also a big stall will eat up some HP on the dyno. Here is where dyno #'s are useless. After u add whatever gears and TC U WILL go faster than the car was before the gear & or TC swap. It will just show a lesser # on paper for the dyno.
