Boosting an L36

I've heard some things about the L36 being built for boost and the bottom end being rather strong. I was wondering how much boost it would hold in stock form. I was thinking of supercharging it and running 10psi, would this be safe or would I need to beef up the internals first?

Look in the Forced Induction forum and do some searches, there is tons of info on boosting L36's, and at least three kits to choose from, plus others have done their own thing. You could read for days.
