? about titanium valves and other stuff.

Hi guys, I searched but didn't find too much info. Anyway my best friend works at a machine shop and we were talking the other night.

1. If we replaced my valves he said we should replace them with titanium valves. He said they weren't expensive. Does anyone know where I can find info on them and possibly where to buy them.

2. He said he would port and polish my heads for me, although he's only ported and polished aluminum heads. I'd be kind of a guinea pig for the iron heads. I was going to get another set and then do a swap on them. What kind of gains do you think I would see with p&p heads without programming or anything else? Also does anyone know any good places to buy a pair of extra heads? And I know this sounds stupid but is it even possible to put aluminum heads on our block?

Manley sells custom titanium valves....and I have an extra set of heads for $150 + shipping.

Hmm, i'm not sure when or if i'm going to do this. I want to because I can get a lot of work done for cheap. I want to do some more research and if I do get everything done, and if you still have the heads, I'll contact you about them.

I see them go pretty cheap on ebay all the time. These rebuilt heads just went for $25 not too long ago.

Problem with oversized valves in our heads is you have to cut past the hardened seat and then you will begin to get valve seat resession and the only way to make it not happen is to run a lead subsitute
