3.73's or 4.10's will kill his top end in a stock 3800.. </font>
Really? And you know this how?

Oh he was talking about top speed. In that case he is correct. I though he was talking about acceleration. My bad, continue on. </font>
For a minute there, I thought he meant gears actually found their way into the motor, and choked it off at high rpm... :D

If i do roller rockers will i lose bottom end? Cause i know if i do a big cam i will lose bottom, so i am just wondering if i will notice any loss with the use of roller rockers?
2002 M5 camaro- VTR CAI, custom cat-back exhaust, battery compacitor, pullie, lowering springs, 32mm sway bar, cross-drilled slotted rotars. 1-10\" L7 in cubby.
dude, don't worry about bottom end loss. I have a full 3" exhaust from the y-pipe back, and it still feels good. higher ratio rockers will allow more air in and out of the motor at all rpm's, so I would imagine it wouldn't hurt u, except below 1500, or maybe 1000 rpm, where we're hardly ever at.

A cam with as much duration as you can stand, P&P your heads and intake, headers and duel exhaust will give you loads of top end.
rockes will not make you lose top end, it will all be low end. If you add lift with out duration you will see power low and high. Now, more Duration will make you lose bottem end if you keep the lift the same. If you put in a much higher duration cam in you should put in lower gears.
Also get a LSD or posi so you can hook your new power.

I have a full 3" exhaust and high flow converter, I didnt lose a speck of low end. There are some mild cams from Crane and others that wouldnt sacrifice much if any low end. (mild is what you want because running anything too crazy requires head work and computer tuning $$$) Our cars already have roller rockers (not roller tip, btw..) but I think crane makes roller tip rockers for LS1's in 1.7 and 1.8 ratio- 1.7's would be good for stock or mild cams, 1.8 is tough for anything other than stock cam, headwork (valve spring keeper clearance) is required. Our cars have a very long, very flat torque curve, that starts to drop around 4k rpm. Peak hp is around 5600 rpm, but since we have more torque than we do horses, it feels like it's choking out- dont worry. My only problem is hitting the rev limiter in first gear- since the tach is always about 1500 rpm behind what the engine is actually revving.
