  • Going to rebuild 3.4L V6 to extreme, need advice!

OK, this is no joke! I've had it with this ****,
no more mocking and laughing at V6. People with
V8, be ready, cause this V6 will be unleashed in summer 2007...

I need good advice where to begin. Money isn't obejct. What kind of parts (the best ofcourse) shall i use to put together one nightmare to these
    arregant V8 owners.??

I dont have (yet) good professional touch with engines and tuning so i need you specialists!

Take this serious! I know im sure as hell going to.

I would give Josh at FTPP a call. His web site is www.ftpp.net He is very knowledgable about the 3.4L cuz he has one that is fully built. The only major problem you are going to run into is tuning after all of your work is done to optimize the mods. I would start with heads, cam, intake... do you have any mods done to your car yet?

if not i'd start with a cold air intake, exhaust. Some more info on your car would be greatly appreciated (auto or 5 speed) etc.

like it has been said before with out any option of tunning short of a stand alone system, and that is $$$$, your not going to get the full potential of the motor let alone even get it to run and idle correctly if you go extream. A few people have built these bad *** 3.4l and sunk alot of money into them but no one has put down any numbers or times worth a damn, i'm talking N/A for those people that will bring up tiago FI is a diffrent animal.

FFF is building at least one fully built turbo 3.4L. It's using a T72 turbo. They're going for 500whp and 10 sec 1/4 mile.

www.supersixmotorsports.com right there is everything you will need for the motor. i believe its heads/cam/intake and everything. i thought about it myself before i got rid of the 3.4L but i dont have the patience to mess with an engine that cant be tuned properly by many people.

wow tiago is using a T72?!!!!!!!! i cant wait to hear more about that.

SSM dosn't offer that kit as an off the shelf purschase, You have to send them your heads, upper, and lower intake to be worked over then he will send them back and you have to get the cam else were I belive (its pretty much the same cam that crane offers) I think if I remember correctly that it was going to be $700 for him to work over your own stuff  then you have to pay for shipping both ways

actually sounds like a decent deal... If you looked around you could probalby get heads and intake for a 3.4L for like $300... Even less, I almost bought a 3.4L for $150 once.

True, but that's pretty risky IMO. I would trust someone with experience in our engines over some guy who's been doing V8s for years but has never even seen a set of 3.4 heads. ;)

all SSM is going to do to the heads is clean the casting flaws and make the ports a tiny bit larger... any one that knows how to port a head properly could do the same thing that SSM does. its not like they have some sort of secret technique to porting the heads... but to each his own

if you really want to go to the extreme you should get the 3.4 bowtie aluminum block with center4 bolt mains and then get that stuffed with parts off of http://www.ftpp.net cuz they have all kinds of goodies for the 3.4L
looks bad , runs like hell
