• Wait or not to wait, that is the question?

Current Modifications:
Custom PVC Intake
Smoothed & Cut Airbox
Free Ram Air Modification
Fram Air Hog Hi-Performance Air Filter
Flowmaster Catback w/ an open Cutout mounted after the Resonator
Mobil 1 10W30 Synthetic Oil w/ a Fram Oil Filter

Now, my parents said they would get me a few small modifications ($400-$600) for Christmas this year. OR because I am getting a job in October, they said if I wait 6 months they will help pay half of the money for the following modifications: GT2 Cam, LS6 Springs, Comp Hi-Tech Pushrods, Titanium Retainers, Zexel Torsen LSD, Aluminum Driveshaft, and a Tune. They will help pay half of the money for all the modifications & installation all at once. I think I should get them all at once and get them all installed instead of one here and there. What do you think? Thanks!!!

Don't go into the engine. Do gears, LSD, tune, TC, etc.

Because you can really screw something up. Plus its better to get everything else done before internal engine work.

I have really been wanting to do all those modification for a while, plus my Dad knows a lot about cars, he used to work for John DeLorean. My Dad can't install the modifications due to health problems but we can find someone around here in Florida to do a good job.

You could easily spend $1500 on the other prerequisite stuff before looking into engine work. ;)

I have full Intake & Exhaust, Stock 3.42 Gears, all I thought I would need before the engine work is LSD, and Aluminum Driveshaft? The car will mostly be a show car/weekend driver; I will only race it at the 1/4 in the winter months maybe a couple times a year. What else would I need? Oh, and Thank You for helping me out, I am really looking forward to meeting you at our Hooters meet in October!

A catback isn't a full exhaust...still need headers and a cat.

Do you really have 3.42s with an open diff? That's not very common. That'll definitely save some money, though.

TC would be a good idea for a good launch, and you'll gain now as well.

Tuner would be a great idea. You'll need it with the cam, and having it before gives you time to learn it.

The cam will cost $1000 + install (probably around $800).

I already have Tubular Exhaust Manifolds. :D
Plus, I can defiantly get a Magnaflow High Flow Cat within a couple months. No problem.

So LSD, an Aluminum Driveshaft, a High Flow Cat, and a tune after the engine work and I'm set right? I really might only race it a couple of times after all the modifications. It will mostly be a show car/weekend driver. Any more tips?
