My friends dad works in a mechanics shop and knows that I am somewhat testing the waters of getting a V8. He has fount 2 engines that will be sold to him (i'll pay him and he'll pay the guy) dirt cheap, I'm not real sure the exact price I will post that once I get the price. There is a 350 4-bolt that is carburated and needs to be overhauled....he also has a friend that he works with that will overhaul it for him real cheap because they throw each other business all the time so they cut deals and stuff. He told me he is going to get that price too so again i'll post about it when i get it. I am going to be able to go on and get a cam assuming that is the route i choose to go and he'll put it in and everything and it could be bored...the optiuons go on and on. It is carburated (sp). I know absolutely nothing about carbs but am researching them as much as possible. I was curious about hp and torque and things like that of course. Also will it even fit in my car and how much trouble would it be. the other engine I know nothing about i just kjnow it is a 327. He is suppose to get back to me on. Is a 327 even a good option??? It would be dirt cheap as well. He is going to talk to everyone he can and find out all the prices and stuff for me and then i'll post what information I get. I was just wanting to know ahead of time if it is even going to work with a stock hood and if it was worth it to do. I didnt want to have him calling all these ppl if it was pointless to think about because I want to keep my hood and all. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I can't believe I forgot this but what sort of transmission would I need. I'm sure my stock one won't work?
